WOOD DOORS

THERE ARE TWO MAIN TYPES OF LOCKS FOUND ON WOOD DOORS
NIGHT LATCH (YALE LOCK) & MORTISE LOCKS

Night latches (YALE LOCK) are commonly referred to as Yale locks. If you have lost your keys or the cylinder is damaged we will only replace the cylinder which is cheaper than replacing the entire lock. If the lock body is broken we will try to repair it, if this not possible we will Replace the entire lock. We can fit night latches to new door, bedroom doors or upgrade a standard night latch (YALE LOCK) to an insurance approved BS3621 2007

MORTISE LOCKS comes in various types, at Leeds locksmiths we only fit insurance approved BS3621 2007 5 lever, sash lock & dead locks. Many houses still have standard 5, 3, 2, lever Without British standards, at Leeds locksmith we can upgrade your lock to meet insurance standards. Mortise locks can also be operated by a cylinder in which case we recommend a Snap secure cylinder is fitted; these can be found commonly in apartments with a thumb turn on the inside
